Growth programme for small businesses

General information

Small businesses are the backbone of the Salzburg economy and contribute to the particular stability of the regional labour market. The aim is to motivate small businesses to make investments that help to maintain or strengthen their competitiveness and innovation capacity in a sustainable manner.

Requirements

Small commercial businesses which are members of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce.
On average, a maximum of 20 employees (converted to full-time annual equivalents) per year, not including apprentices.
Support will be given for tangible investments financed by self-financing or by loans for:
•    making structural or mechanical improvements and/or upgrades;
•    offering new or improved products or services or applying new or improved production processes;
•    extending the season at tourism or leisure establishments, attracting new target groups, improving the quality of the establishment or creating or improving accommodation or recreation rooms for staff.
 

Required documents

•    Quotes for items applied for above EUR 5 000 net.
•    Construction plan + building permit (for construction projects).
 

Procedure

Applications for funding can only be submitted online. Applications cannot be submitted by post, fax or email.
The application is examined in the funding body by the responsible case officer.
After examination by the case officer, the funding application is forwarded to the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce (WKS) checks whether there is a valid business licence and whether the investment location corresponds to the register of members.
Once the WKS has issued a positive opinion, the funding agreement can be issued.
 

Costs and fees

There are no costs for applicants.

Deadlines

Implementation of the project (ordering/contracting) may only start after the application has been submitted. Receipt of application = date of acceptance.
The invoicing documents must be sent to the funding authority no later than 3 months after completion of the project.

Means of redress or appeal

It is possible to intervene in the event of a refusal. In this case, a statement is sent to the relevant case officer / management of the Salzburg Growth Fund (by email). The objection will then be discussed at the Growth Fund meeting.

Further information

Funding is provided through the award of a premium (direct grant) of 10% of the eligible investment costs. The funding calculation base (total eligible costs) is capped at EUR 40 000.
In regions eligible for regional aid, the premium is 15%. The regions eligible for regional aid are:
•    Tamsweg District — Lungau national regional aid area
•    Lammertal — municipalities of Abtenau, Annaberg and Rußbach
•    Saalachtal — municipalities of Lofer, St Martin bei Lofer, Unken and Weißbach
•    Unterpinzgau — municipalities of Bruck, Diente, Fusch, Lend, Rauris and Taxenbach
•    Oberpinzgau — municipalities of Krimml, Wald, Neukirchen, Bramberg, Hollersbach, Mittersill, Stuhlfelden, Uttendorf and Niedernsill
•    Municipality of Hüttschlag

The data are kept only until the purpose is fulfilled. If statutory retention periods are to be observed, these will be complied with. The retention period results from specific legal provisions and, if need be, from provisions on the destruction of records.
The personal data provided shall not be disclosed to third parties unless required by law (e.g. transfer report). This may also include the exchange of any personal data with others or between funding bodies / funding advisory bodies for the purpose of assessing the existence of the eligibility conditions and verifying proof of use.
