Salzburger Landesbediensteten-Gehaltsgesetz (but only by analogy)
There is no entitlement to a traineeship.
The traineeship does not constitute an employment relationship with the province of Salzburg. While trainees are not subject to any orders, they must follow the general in-house rules and applicable safety regulations. Therefore, they are not due any regular remuneration either. However, it may be agreed to grant an allowance.
Trainees who are not paid an allowance are not registered for compulsory insurance. These trainees must prove that they have accident and health insurance cover before starting their traineeship.
If a trainee is granted an allowance that exceeds the marginal earnings threshold (2020: EUR 460.66 per month) they will have to be registered for full comprehensive insurance (health, accident and pension insurance). If the allowance does not exceed the marginal earnings threshold, they will generally have to be registered only for accident insurance.
